Get Involved

There are several ways for individuals and organizations to take part:

Make Your Mark on History
One of the best ways to show your involvement in the commemorative celebrations is by using the Buncombe 250 mark to promote your participation during the 250th commemorative period. Please use the America 250 NC Buncombe County mark and tag us @buncombe250nc in your event posts.

The use of the America 250 NC Buncombe County mark provides participants with the opportunity to submit their events for posting on the statewide America 250 NC event calendar.

Educational Activity Bags

North Carolina libraries, museums, and historic sites can request an Educational Activity Bag from America 250 NC. These bags, which are donated free of charge to institutions, include children’s books, America 250 NC swag, worksheets, educational resources, and informational materials. They are all contained in a reusable canvas bag for your patrons to borrow and return easily. Each branch or institute may request one bag, while supplies last. Please use your best discretion when deciding whether to allow visitors to borrow these bags, limit their use to your site, or incorporate them into your public programming. America 250 NC Educational Activity Bags are donations and do not need to be returned to DNCR, the State of North Carolina, or America 250 NC.
